I also bought it for ironing my seams down flat without ironing a huge area such as with a regular-sized iron. It works perfect for these things! I have the setting at the highest. You may have to spray some water on the fabric for getting out tough wrinkles, because it doesn't have a built-in steamer. It does get very hot, though, so you have to be careful not to allow children in the room when using it. In fact, shut the door and lock it because children seem to be a magnet for these things. I also like the guard it has on it to help keep you from burning yourself. However, I wish that it went all the way around
Date published: 2011-10-10

Rated 4 out of 5 by suefern from Works great, gets really, really hot! I love my iron, I use it for HTV where I can't use my press. Also used it to remove HTV pieces that got accidentally pressed. HOWEVER, I have burnt myself pretty badly a few times. One time when adjusting the stand it sits on and just yesterday trying to get pressure and an odd angel put my finger right on the hot rod. They really need to put the red protection around the whole rod and make a silicone mat or something for the base holder. I have a lovely blister on my finger now. You'd think after the first time I'd learn...
Date published: 2018-03-16

Rated 4 out of 5 by sbraz64 from Great Tool for intended use I purchased this iron and the larger flat iron attachment to use to press seams on quilt pieces and also to iron down applique pieces for in-the-hoop applique. It does take about 10 minutes to heat up. However, I am pretty sure I read that on the packaging. I usually turn my iron on when I get up to the sewing room to give it plenty of time to heat up. I set it just past medium and it gets plenty hot enough to handle the tasks I use it for. It is not intended to be used to iron out wrinkles. It has saved me a LOT of time when I am appliqueing because I don't have to get up and walk to the ironing board every time I add a small piece into the hoop. I would highly recommend it for these types of projects! You do have to be careful with the neck of the appliance as it does get very hot. That is also very well documented on the packaging.
Date published: 2014-03-31

Rated 1 out of 5 by Quilter from Will be returning I bought this to press seams on quilt blocks as a full size iron is a bit bulky sometimes. I had it plugged in and turned on high for over an hour and it never reached a high enough temp to nicely press the seams. The package says on high it will reach 560*F. Used my husbands temperature gun to check it and it barely even reached 200*F. The stand that comes with it to rest it on in between uses is cheap and unstable. I will be returning this to the store.
Date published: 2015-01-11

by Jazmin from Horrible I bought this product because I needed a small iron for my appliques. First of all it does not remove the wrinkles at all, however it is still hot enough to burn the fabric and it doesnt have a protective coat like teflon so actually the fabric will adhere to it.
