SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Burlap-Wrapped Wreath, 18", 1
  • Leaf Stems:
  • Maple Branch: Yellow, 3, Orange, 2, Red, 2
  • Oak Branch: Orange, 1, Red, 1
  • Tape measure
  • Tape
  • Floral Wire, 26 gauge, 2'
  • Wire Cutters, 1
  • Hot Glue
  • Multi-Temp Glue Gun

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Create a hanger: Fold the 2' section of wire in half. Wrap the wire around the wreath and pull the tail ends of wire through the loop of wire. Twist the tail ends back around themselves to secure.
  2. Leaf color transition locations: Use a tape measure to divide the wreath into thirds. The first mark located at the hanger. Mark the locations with a band of tape around wreath.
  3. Cut leaves: Cut the leaves off stems keeping separate piles for each color. Cut the berry stems 2 1/2" from the underside of the berries. Keep berries in a separate pile.
  4. Attach the leaves and berries: Start at the hanger location working clockwise. Point the leaves all the same direction toward the hanger. Apply glue to the lower 1" of the center stem of a leaf and press in place applying 7-8 leaves from the inside of the wreath to the outside of the wreath. Continue adding leaves overlapping by approximately half the leaf length. Vary the direction of the points of the leaves for a full look. Every 4-5" press the stem of one berry cluster into the body of the wreath. Alternate sides for the berries and intertwine with the leaves. Further secure with glue.
  5. Transition to the next color: Start the next color by mixing a few of the next color leaves in with the first color before the first third of wreath mark. At the tape mark use only the second color. Repeat for the transition to the third color.
